For this child I prayed ...

Clay's Dedication Day

I asked the Lord to give me this boy, and he has granted my request. Now I am giving him to the Lord, and he will belong to the Lord his whole life."
And, they worshipped the Lord there.
1 Samuel 1:27-28

Party Like a Rock Star!

Our kids have always had so much fun celebrating their birthdays with their friends. We have had tea parties, skate parties, laser tag parties, Build-A-Bear parties and many others that I have probably, for one reason or another, blocked out! Mitchell, however, has really never had a friend party. Yes, he has had friends at his parties, but never a "invite everyone you want to at school" party. I guess it's the downside of a summer birthday. So, this year we decided to wait until school started to have his party. We swam, ate subs and cake and enjoyed the last days of summer with friends. Now, that is what childhood should be all about!

Thanks everyone for celebrating "8" with us!
(and, thanks Mitchell for giving our family a reason to celebrate!)

This picture was taken on our way home from Panama City Beach after Marshall INSISTED we turn around to take a picture. (Yes, Troy is an awesome dad!) This is quite typical of the random things that seem to interest Marshall. I have to admit that I frequently tell him "Enough, Marshall. I can't listen to one more crazy conspiracy theory, watch one more 'youtube' video or look at one more 'fail blog' picture." Tonight, however, was different! Tonight was "Open House" at his school ... you know quickly meet and greet his teachers and get home. It was so cool to hear his teachers tell how us how intelligent he was, how he participated in discussions with very interesting points and how he would be "recruited" for AP classes next year. So, guess what,
KIDS ARE NOT STUPID!

Pedicures!

It has now become a tradition -
when Lori & Nana come for a visit
we. have. to. get. pedicures!

Now, this a tradition that is here to stay!
