Give Me An "L"!

Marshall "officially" finished his freshman year
of band tonight with Awards Night. He received his first "letter" that will never go on a "Letterman's Jacket". SO totally, definitely not his style, but exciting just the same!

And, because I had to have some fun at his expense,  I took this picture as we where leaving. "Really? This is all you have to do?", he asked.  He only had a few friends drive by and heckle while he was posing! ;o) I told him it is just the price of having a wanna be photographer as his mom. "Real photographers take pictures of objects!", he says! "Good, now I am thankful I am not a "real" photographer!"
Marshall, you make us crazy proud!

Surprise!

We made a quick, surprise trip to Illinois this weekend for Jessie and Cassie's (our neices) graduation. And, surprise to us, it was a very enjoyable, relaxing get away!

Although I am not sure the quick trip justifies only getting THREE pictures!
Maybe someone will send me some. (hint, hint. ;o) )

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

My family so gets me!
Mother's Day has turned into a week long event in our house! A gift every day ... three pink roses, dinner (and clean-up), perfume, a shirt, cards, a stepping stone, lunch out on Sunday, a pedicure for Makenzie and me and a Sunday afternoon nap!

Mother's Day is MY day. Yes, I love Christmas gifts, and I love to be remembered on my birthday. Valentine's Day and our anniversary are important, but I can live without the candy and flowers. But, Mother's Day is completely another story. I am a Mother... that is who I am ... to be a Godly mother ... that is my life's motivation. And, I am so thankful when my family shows me they "get it"!

"... and her children arise and call her blessed ."

Welcome, Baby Clay!

Our great-nephew arrived tonight ...
weighing 9 pounds and 3 ounces

and measuring 22 inches long ...
looking much like I remember his mommy
looking the day she was born.

... for this child I prayed ...
