First Day of School

Today was the first day of the 2009-2010 school year.

This morning I am praying for each of my children and their teachers. God has always been faithful in providing the best teacher for each of them, and have am certain this year will be no exception.
I am also praying for my most favorite teacher!

A Last Hurrah, I Mean It This Time!

Today was the last day before the school year officially begins for Troy and I, so everyone tried to squeeze the last little bit of fun into our summer.

Marshall went to Six Flags with a group of friends.
(no picture!)

Makenzie hung out with her friend, Jenna, and then, went to the movies. It was the first time I have ever dropped her and a friend off at the movies. Big step for me!
(no picture!)

Tammy, Courtney and I went to Hobby Lobby. Lots of fun!
(no picture!)

And, last but not least, Troy and Mitchell went to Stone Mountain for an all day adventure!

Can you tell who just became the official family photographer?!

A Last Hurrah!

Today we enjoyed what might be our last hurrah before the school year starts. Mr. Hendrix hosted a Bash & Splash for LES faculty. It was a great day to get caught up with everyone.

It's not the end, it's only the beginning!

Two (long) weeks of band camp came to an end today. Family and friends were invited to come watch the portion of the show that was ready - which was a lot. They have all worked really hard and it was apparent yesterday. Because of the completion of a new high in our district the number of band members has dropped, but not their award winning spirit and determination!

Marshall is on his knees ... second from left ...
sporting his new sax ... thanks Granny & Grampa.

At one point in the show, Marshall is front and center which happens to be where Makenzie is during their competition. Let me just say, this could be the year for nerve medication!

(You can find more pictures of band camp here and here!)

Happy Birthday, America!

So thankful to live in a country where we can worship how we choose ...
and, watch fireworks on the beach!

Is a Bed & Breakfast in our future?

Now, that would be an awesome "job"!
We have had so much fun the last couple of weeks.

First, we had an awesome group of youth
and their fearless leaders from
Mackey Church of the Nazarene.
They were headed to Orlando on a mission trip and
stopped here for the night.
Seriously, awesome kids! We were blessed by them.
Of course, getting to spend a little time
with our nephew and neice,
Caleb and Lisa, and their daughter,
Annie made it over the top great!

And, then, the next weekend Granny and Grampa,
Aunt Rob and Dierks came to visit.

We had a great time swimming and
hanging out, enjoying our time together.

It Must Be Summer Vacation!

Weeks without a post ...

... homemade ice cream ...

... goggles and sunglasses ...

... hanging out at the pool ...

... sleeping late, really late ...

... a  shrinking "honey do list" ...

Oh, I so love summer!
I hope you are enjoying yours!
