Um, yea, but don't judge me!
I am one of "those" moms. Makenzie, Jenna, Marshall, Meggie & I intended to take a nap last night ... but, we were too excited to sleep! Why were we excited you ask? Because we had tickets for the 12:01 am showing of NEW MOON, of course! Yes, it was a school night and yes, we had to be at the theater at 10:30 and yes, Troy gasped when he looked at our online banking transactions and yes, we only got three hours of sleep ... but it was SO WORTH IT! The movie was great and hanging out with awesome teenagers is incredible!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of the 2009-2010 school year.

This morning I am praying for each of my children and their teachers. God has always been faithful in providing the best teacher for each of them, and have am certain this year will be no exception.
I am also praying for my most favorite teacher!

A Last Hurrah, I Mean It This Time!

Today was the last day before the school year officially begins for Troy and I, so everyone tried to squeeze the last little bit of fun into our summer.

Marshall went to Six Flags with a group of friends.
(no picture!)

Makenzie hung out with her friend, Jenna, and then, went to the movies. It was the first time I have ever dropped her and a friend off at the movies. Big step for me!
(no picture!)

Tammy, Courtney and I went to Hobby Lobby. Lots of fun!
(no picture!)

And, last but not least, Troy and Mitchell went to Stone Mountain for an all day adventure!

Can you tell who just became the official family photographer?!

A Last Hurrah!

Today we enjoyed what might be our last hurrah before the school year starts. Mr. Hendrix hosted a Bash & Splash for LES faculty. It was a great day to get caught up with everyone.

I hear the Ice Cream Man!

Don't you just love the sound of the
ice cream truck on a hot summer day?

It Must Be Summer Vacation!

Weeks without a post ...

... homemade ice cream ...

... goggles and sunglasses ...

... hanging out at the pool ...

... sleeping late, really late ...

... a  shrinking "honey do list" ...

Oh, I so love summer!
I hope you are enjoying yours!

Surprise!

We made a quick, surprise trip to Illinois this weekend for Jessie and Cassie's (our neices) graduation. And, surprise to us, it was a very enjoyable, relaxing get away!

Although I am not sure the quick trip justifies only getting THREE pictures!
Maybe someone will send me some. (hint, hint. ;o) )

Welcome, Baby Clay!

Our great-nephew arrived tonight ...
weighing 9 pounds and 3 ounces

and measuring 22 inches long ...
looking much like I remember his mommy
looking the day she was born.

... for this child I prayed ...

Oh, yeah we have been promised snow before,
but this time we really got some.
Snow, complete with a day out of school!

A Much Needed Break

Spring Intercession begins today, yea! I am so ready, too. I plan to sleep in some and work on little Clay's nursery. Troy has a short two day hike planned with a friend. Marshall and Mitchell are going to stay up late, sleep in, eat and play games, not necessarily in that order. Makenzie is going on a Disney cruise with her friend, Amy. As different as our plans are, I am sure everyone will have a great week ... doing exactly what they love!

BUNCO!

Tonight was our neighborhood Bunco. I "heart" Bunco. I play with the neighborhood ladies and, also, with a group of ladies from Troy's school. Troy loves to say that I play in two "leagues"! Both groups of ladies are a hoot to be around! My great friend, Lisa, was the hostess tonight which was great. She is an awesome hostess, designer and friend!

I was the biggest loser tonight!
I won this sign which I absolutely love.
Thanks, Lisa!

So, true ...

A Night Out

Troy and I went to his school's holiday party tonight. The food was delicious and it was nice to be out alone. (Well, with the entire faculty and staff of LES, but alone in the sense that there were no children there!) Makenzie stayed home and babysat Mitchell and this little cutie pie.

Day at Stone Mountain Park

We spent Saturday afternoon with Granny & Grampa at Stone Mountain Park.

We had a great time touring the Museum, Plantation, riding the train and experiencing the 4D Polar Express adventure.
