We are having the best time watching Mitchell play basketball! He LOVES basketball, and we LOVE the Upward Program!

You should see the other guy!

Mitchell loves to sleep in Makenzie's room on the weekends, and even though Makenzie has two beds, he normally sleeps in her twin bed with her. Well, those days may be over. This weekend, according to him, she pushed him out of bed onto her trunk. We have been thinking of really tough sounding stories that he can share with his friends! :o)

The sweetest part of this story is that in the middle of the night when he came into our room to tell us, he told Troy that he hit his face on Makenzie's "treasure chest". Isn't that the cutest?

I know a secret!

Please, please, don't ask me to tell.

Okay, okay ... one hint.

Someone in our family is "exceptional".

No. Really, I have already said too much.

I really shouldn't even know this, but I know someone who knows someone who sends e-mails about educational related topics.

Okay, one more hint and that is it.

We are "batting three for three"!

I know, that was a bad hint because now you are thinking sports and it has nothing to do with sports. It has to do with school. Well, yea, sports can be related to school, but not until middle school and this is about a second grader.

Oh, now I really have to stop.

I know that wasn't fair because you only got one good hint.

Okay, one more, and that is it!

Someone that I know got an e-mail from someone she knows who is in charge of "exceptional education" in our county about someone I know (and love!). But, I absolutely cannot tell you what the e-mail said ... well, I can tell you it was about the results of all their "testing" on this certain someone that I know (and love!). But, I absolutely cannot tell you if I know whether or not

Mitchell was selected to be a part of the Gifted Education Program!

So, please, don't ask me because I cannot keep secrets!

Party Like a Rock Star!

Our kids have always had so much fun celebrating their birthdays with their friends. We have had tea parties, skate parties, laser tag parties, Build-A-Bear parties and many others that I have probably, for one reason or another, blocked out! Mitchell, however, has really never had a friend party. Yes, he has had friends at his parties, but never a "invite everyone you want to at school" party. I guess it's the downside of a summer birthday. So, this year we decided to wait until school started to have his party. We swam, ate subs and cake and enjoyed the last days of summer with friends. Now, that is what childhood should be all about!
